You dont need a MD player AND Cd player.. thats just a waste.
Title search menu? Your in a fuckin car.. when do you have time to look for a song.
Bah, I say its a rip off.. thats over 1000$ Canadian.. and you could get somthing way better.. *sigh*

Capty, for $850 or whatever you could get an indash LCD and then hook your PS2 Up to it. Why the fuck would you buy that? What car are you going to put it in?

I feel some what foolish replying after Quik and Neo's response but hey... What the hell.
I used to have almost the identical model. Alpine Double-Din, 3 Disc changer, and tape. I had it installed in my old GTA, the console had to be modified for it to fit and look nice. Alpine subs, EQ, v12 amp, center channel, and speakers. Bad ass system.
If I recall correctly this was the summer of 1997 and the face unit cost me about $1060.00 (including install/dash modifications.)
I say it's a nice look'n head unit, but please for the love of God spend the cash to upgrade the rest of your system. I don't get into the whole bump'n thing, just want my ride to be as enjoyable to me as possible. Nothing pisses me off more than a poser with an Alpine control and stock speakers hooked to a shitty Jensen AMP pushing MTX subs from 1994.
Alpine is top of the line and an industry God. A face unit like that desreves a good ride, comparable system and protection. (If there's no alarm on your car, might as well kiss it goodbye.)

[EDIT]As an after thought... This was also when I lived at home and was bring home pay checks between $650.00-$1,100.00 dollars. Before the "real world" set in and made me wish I had saved more cash for being on my own. i.e. sold car, bought brand new GTX Eclipse, racked up some Credit cards, divorced, single dad, take a year to play catch up)
Hind sight is always 20/20.

I know what Slash is talking about! I made a good amount of money living at home with releatively no bills, now wonder what I did with it all.
It is a nice headunit but I wouldn't spend that much, even in my "blow all my money living at home" years.

first of all you guys have to understand something
if your getting a radio like that with a High-Watt support, and spending that much cash, it would only make sence to get new car speakers (front & rear) and get a subwoofer. but then again if you get all that you need a car Amplifier, you need to configure it yourself, set up the Ohms, and make sure its some place where it can stay cool. Then once you have all that, you should get a club to make sure your car is not stolen. Hey, if your spending all that money on a damn radio, why not get the most out of it you can?

dude, that is a total waste of money with stock speakers.
save a little more and spend the money on a home theatre system instead.

EXACTLY my point
get a home theater, souround sound, a reciever, it would be so much better
unless you'll be spending more time in your car then in your house
and if thats the case, i think you should be spending your money on something else
