Dreamweaver Preferences

Posted 07 October 2002 - 02:23 PM

I don't use dreamweaver but some guys I work with do. I'm entirely unimpressed by the code it produces... attributes in caps, missing quotation marks, etc. Is there a place in the preferences where you can set these sorts of things so that it's up to standard?

hooray for GoLive! It does everything dwmx does and more. Adobe is just quieter about it. It even converts HTML to xhtml :) I love GoLive :)

It's obvious it isnt as good as dreamweaver. I assure if you stuck a poll on some popular forum, theres more people using dw then golive.

And no, its not because 'We havnt tried it' its because 'it sucks'

Most versions of dreamweaver should be:

Edit -> Preferences... -> HTML Format (something to that effect)

You can change the case of tags and atribs, and the way it indents.

thanks super, I'll see if we can make some improvements. I know that what it's been producing is nowhere near good enough. The designers think, "well it *works* so that's all that matters" so it might be a battle for me to get it changed. :P

I use EditPlus (you should try it, I'll never go back to notepad). But the designers here use Dreamweaver and it's driving me insane. For example, take a look at the source for www.zenderford.com. In one of the internal pages I counted *24* tables (ack).

Compared to EditPlus, notepad isn't hardcore--it's masochism. :)

supernova: thanks, we're pretty proud of it. just launched yesterday.
