Is C# up to all its hype?

Posted 18 June 2008 - 11:20 PM

Just something I have been wanting to know. Is C# a good language to learn? I mean I know the basics, but is it worth to continue learning? I love the language, but is there something else I should be looking in to.

(P.S I have past programming experience with VB, C, C++, Java, and some others.)

All opinions are grateful!

Thanks, :pirate:

Speak for yourself, if you like it, learn it. C# is a good language to learn.

C# is just a computer language. Hype? :P

If you like Java, C# will make you happy. On the other hand, if you like VB prior to .NET, VB.NET may piss you off. In .NET, C# was used to write the bulk of the libraries. If you want to use .NET, C# is a real good choice.

C# is definitely my language of choice, it seems to be the most powerful language I've worked with so far (I've programming VB.NET C++, C++ CLI, and Java). But it could be different for you, it depends what your doing! A lot of times, I like to see if I can make C# or another language do something it's not supposed to do! ;)

Haha, yeah. I have heard that C# is most powerful. I already got myself a book, and have been reading it page by page. So far, I like it. And I am pretty sure that I will stick with it. :D

Don't just limit yourself to one language. Be versitile, but if you want to be proficient in a language I think C# is a good choice.

According to my instructor, C# is what will be used mostly, in the future.

I like it better than the other languages so far.

Each language serves its purpose. Some are better for different things.
