installing geforce 7600s graphics card

hi
i have tried to upgrade my packard bell pc(pentium4 cpu 1.5ghz 256ram) graphics card from geforce2 (original card) to a geforce 7600gs.it has been a frustrating experience. i uninstalled previous drivers before installing new card then added new drivers.originally i got a picture on my tv (as wellas the monitor ) but when i go into nvidia control panel to adjust settings the tv display goes black.it appears that i can only get tv display whilst using clone mode.if i try dual view - blackscreen on tv.even so in clone mode the only media player that plays on tv is vlc player, all the others give a black screen. i am wondering if this is a compatability issue with my motherboard(microstar ms6506) .
can anyone please help?

Try going into the Windows Display Settings... Click the second monitor (it should have a "2" on the picture) and click "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor."
