1. Create a dup of your explorer.exe (call it explorer1 to make this easy for moi;)) to work on, keep the original in a safe place, lest you blow up everything...
2. Open explorer1.exe in your favourite hex editor and find find lines:
000412b6 - 000412bf
and
0004158a - 00041593
Or something near that. Change those accordinly. Now the thing is, you MUST keep it 5 characters with nulls in between each. You can get a hack program and extend that, but for now stick to this.
3. go into your registry and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinLogon and you want to change the shell property to "explorer1.exe" - your new explorer file. Restart your computer and Viola! A new start message!
I don't take ANY responsibilities or crap about your computer blowing up if you do this. If it does blow up, you just aren't 1337 enough.

that is old. 
You can change it to anything you want and it works on most windows versions. You could have Supercally...(marry poppin thing) if you really wanted to.
