New here but not to this world!

Posted 07 July 2008 - 04:03 AM

Hey all, Just stopping by to say hello!

I was referred by some fellow web developer friends, although I am not of their caliber, I find my interaction with them is mostly beneficial, kind of like the opposite of the old adage' "How can you fly like and eagle (or Skyhawk, hee, hee!) when you are surrounded by turkeys LOL!

I would say I am more like cruising on a Yamaha 650 with in a crowd of Harleys, I can get there, just not with the same efficient efforts they could!

As my time becomes more available, (end of July and August, my job slows down and again from December to March we close for the season) I will be engaging in tutorial threads (if there are any) as well as expanding on what I learn as I learn it.

I am looking forward to a stimulating, and inspiring experience, with all of you here, and who knows, in some time down the road might even be a contributor, depending on the degree of help most need!

Have a little patience and I will generate my avatar and sigs
See you on the boards!

Umm...1st question...yes already LOL! How is "topic type" utilized? Does it refer to the post subject or the poster?

Welcome to </dream.in.code> Smoking Gun, glad you could join us :)

Topic type will set a flag to your topic... beginner, intermediate, expert or none. And it's there to refer to the level of the topic :)

Most people use it in the introduce yourself forum to refer to their level though.

Hope to see you around the forums!

Heya Gunny ;) Welcome to DIC.

Just to get you started off on the right foot. The rules for footers are a little different here. We try to keep them around 150 pixels tall (total) and usually left aligned.

Cya around the forums!

No problem...will be happy to comply, hmmm thought I read the rules, musta been dreaming in code LOL!
Sorry couldn't resist that one :)

Honestly though, considering the tags showing, I was having trouble when migrating my sig from elsewhere, and ran out of time before correcting it, or else I would have reduced it drastically, as I am not happy with all the space it takes :)

TSG!
