Cannot Install FP2000 Message Says Missing File

Posted 15 July 2008 - 03:27 AM

I have been all over the web trying to determine the cause of this issue. I am trying to install Front Page 2000. I am getting an error message that says... Cannot Install. A file is missing. D:\PFiles\Common\MSShared\Artgalry\CH9.ROB is missing

Drive D is the drive where the installation CD is housed.

I have hand FP installed on my computer for several years and I cannot find the file CH9.ROB on my machine.

At the point of the error message there are only two options. A. Retry or B. Quit

Can anyone give me some insight as to how I can work around this issue?

Thank you in advance for your reply.

(I tried searching MS's web site but since I am on slow dialup, there web site is not usable because of the slow download speeds, large graphic files, etc. etc.

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

Well I searched on google and it seems that file is part of Windows XP and if it's missing then maybe it got deleted some how. Maybe reinstall Windows and that will fix your problem.

I searched for CH9.ROB is missing and the only thing that came up is this page, so It's not a problem that a lot of people are having.

Page about ch9.rob

What I meant was when you google for ch9.rob is missing all you get is a result listing your thread on DIC.

I don't know what ch9.rob. I've never heard of it before. Maybe someone else has. Like is it a file that comes with Windows or part of frontpage?

Thank you, chilli. I am going to close this thread out but before I do I wanted to give the solution I found to resolve this issue. In doing the research to find a solution I discovered the ROB file occurs in MS Publisher. I had a copy of Publisher so I installed the Publisher program on the computer and then successfully installed Front Page. This solution may or may not work for you, your mileage may vary. :)
