My girlfriend's mom just got a 64bit Vista gateway. It has an Intel T5550 processor which can run 32 or 64bit OS's. I heard somewhere that you could convert the 64bit Vista to the 32bit OS without buying a separate OS, but I can't seem to find any documentation or explanation of how this is done. Has anyone heard of this or have any idea how to do it, if it's even possible. Thanks.

In a word, NO. You cannot magically convert a 64bit OS to a 32bit OS.

You will have to buy a copy of 32-bit Vista if you want to replace 64-bit Vista.
Do you have any reason for wanting to go backward? Most of the time, 32-bit software will install and run just fine on 64-bit Vista.

I had a copy of Vista 32bit. It just didn't have all the stuff her computer came installed with, but no one needs that stuff anyway. Anyway, the copy of photoshop 5 Limited edition she had wouldn't install on the 64bit version, but had no problems running on the Vista 32bit.
