First, welcome to Dream.In.Code :)

Second, please post your questions in the proper forum, this particular forum is for introductions only.

Third,

For installing IIS on XP follow these directions:
  • Click Start > Settings > Control Panel
  • Select Add or Remove Programs
  • Select Add/Remove Windows Components
  • Place a check in the CheckBox next to Internet Information Services (IIS)
  • Click Next

You need to have your Windows XP CD handy as it will ask for it when it starts to install IIS. Once installation is complete restart your system and you now have IIS on your machine. Hope that helps :)

Lastly, Im moving this to the Computer Support & Operating Systems forum

The question is, what Windows XP edition are you using? IIS is available in Windows XP Professional Edition but is not available in Windows XP Home Edition. As you have a laptop, I suppose that there is Windows XP Home Edition installed, so there is no IIS.

A laptop can come with XP Professional, mine did.

Thanks for catching that, I didn't even think to ask what version. Nice catch :^:

Well, my laptop came with Windows XP Home Edition, but of course I may be wrong about the version installed on the topic starter's laptop.
