Hello. I know this is very late but did you ever get this project going? I have developed a pos using delphi for windows but could easily port it to linux using kylix, I currently use linux as the file and db server for my pos using firebird db and connect winxp embedded thin vxl thinclients for the pos. I not in the us but I can deploy this software remotely using remote client software over the net, so far have abot 80 installations in south Africa, let me know if you would like me to send you a demo.
