Silver is free, Gold is 50 a year.

For me, Xbox won out cuz it was cheaper, and soo many friends of mine have one, and I really never get to see them throughout the year. So its more than just a game system but really a way to keep connected with those friends and sit back and enjoy some video games with em from half a continent away.

PS3 definatly has better hardware, and a blue ray player, but I don't have the money or the friends base to get one. Maybe if all my friends had PS3 and not 360 it would be a different story.

I honestly dont mind paying 50 a year for live gold, (less than 5 a month). It's a good f----n time!

edit: covered up the cursing

To be honest I don’t find the consoles at the moment much different. All the games are pretty much the same except yes Xbox gets halo (imo hate the game) and gears of war but PS3 got metal gear solid and gran turismo is coming out soon and the new kill zone and resistance (apparently meant to be crazy).

Also a few arguments are that PS3 is a more powerful system and that it has a completely new layout to design games on. Look at how the xbox360 games developed (graphically wise) from when the console first came out to now. There is a massive improvement. Now saying this, PS3 when it first came out looks the same as Xbox whereas there newer games mgs4, gran turismo blow the Xbox out of the water.

Online PS3 is free and now on the PS3 you even get achievements so PS3 is slowly catching up with Xbox on that front (PS3 is implementing a lot of updates at the moment) Only real difference that I saw on the online modes is Xbox gets different gamer types (recreation, hardcore, casual etc..) slightly better UI and you got to pay to play it. Also majority of people I find harassing, grieving etc are on the Xbox.

I would say if you want a console that is better at the moment I would say get a Xbox, if you want the console that will be better in the near-mid future get a PS3.

But to sum up it up PC > consoles

I love my PS3 - Great media player (who doesn't love multi-channel PCM?) It supports next-gen video media, upscales old media (I don't know if the 360 can up convert DVDs or not).

I think the interface is a much more pleasing one (even with the 360 update). I enjoy FREE online play, the ability to download things in the background, and the ability to use my bluetooth devices. I don't like to play FPS on consoles, that why I own a computer. RPG wise I've always enjoyed the Playstation game selection. Motion sensing can a new level of fun to the games.

I find the 360 controller too uneven and strange after being so acustomed to the Dualshock form.

Bottom line is PS3 fanboys have no argument.

Name 5 great PS3 games not counting MGS4.

Don't even think of saying Resistance 2 because that game was straight up ass.

Here's my stance as a PS3 owner:

360 Pros:
Cheap
Larger library of games
Better online services

360 Cons:
Shoddy hardware
Not all consoles have hard drives
Yearly online fee
Uses DVDs
Expensive wireless adapter
Not all 360s have HDMI output

360 Key Exclusives:
Halo 3, Gears of War 1 + 2, Forza Motorsport 2, Mass Effect. Sure, there's probably more, but these are the only ones that I can think of because they're the only ones that interest me.

PS3 Pros:
Uses Blu-ray discs
Free online services
All consoles have hard drives
Built-in wireless adapter
Low hardware failure rate
HDMI output

PS3 Cons:
Expensive
Relatively small library of games
Online service not as robust as 360's

PS3 Key Exclusives:
Resistance 1 + 2, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, Metal Gear Solid 4, LittleBigPlanet, Uncharted. Same as with the 360 exclusives, there's probably more.
