I have been an apple fan for a long time and I think I have the new iTunes design done on illustrator but I don’t know how to actually mount it to iTunes. Any ideas? I also want to offer my services as a designer, but don’t know where, any recommended sites?

I don't think that you can change the theme of iTunes. Try looking at the Apple iPod FAQ's Page.

I would love to see what you have come up with, as others. Is it a Photoshop Document?

because apple has not deemed it necessary to be skinnable? its not open source so getting at the components would be impossible?

yeah, but we can do it not for profit use, i think i just got the interest on this, like phone skins, design for private use.

.... this doesn't have anything to do with legality. your just not gonna be able to do it as far as i know. your gonna have to run another skinning program or plugin on top of itunes to do it.

I'm with Cappy on this one. If it isn't designed to be skinable, then you can't skin it. iTunes is a compiled exe that offers no interaction to the GUI level. End of road, end of story.
