Is it recognising your NIC?
Have you used the wizard to set up the new network connections from the control panel?

Well to be able to connect to the internet you have to use the wizard and tell it you are connecting to a private network that is connected to the internet, if you know your routers i.p. and what the subnet settings should be, you can set all that if you right click your NIC, click properties and its under tcp/ip settings.
