I would start with pulling a stick of RAM at a time to see if this solves. In a lot of these cases bad RAM is causing your computer to randomly reboot.

If your computer is only restarting when you connect or access the internet:

I would be looking into a virus.

Update your virus definitions and scan your computer.

If you've recently downloaded or changed something that you think might be causing problems, try going into safe-mode and using "System Restore". It will let you choose a time in the past when your computer was running alright, and you can revert back to those settings.

some more detail would help!

1. Does it happen in safe mode?

2. Can you create another Profile and see if it happens for that one?

3. What operating system are you using

4. if it only occurs when accessing the internet what browser are you using and does it happen when you use another web browser to your usual ie: firefox, IE, Chrome, Safari

5. What have you tried / tested so far?

6. when did it start happening and did you install anything etc before it started?

7. WHY do you think it is ide's or compilers???

if it is the IDE's you're going to want to open the computer and check the connections, then try starting it in safe mode. if that doesn't work, then carefully take out all the cards attached to the mother board except for one stick of ram, CPU, hard drive, and disk drive, and see if that works (try in safe mode first). if it does then slowly start putting cards back in one by one until you find the problem. Hope this helps!

Think you've got the wrong definition of IDE kai, fairly certain he means Integrated Development Environment rather than Integrated Drive Electronics
