Billy Corgan is dead

Posted 24 April 2002 - 05:40 PM

Billy Corgan is dead tired of stupid people. :)

I have a poll/question for everyone. Who is more genious: Thom Yorke of Radiohead or Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins?

I personally pic Billy Corgan, but it's a hard choice.

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

Damnit, Eko!  You sure got my attention good!

They're both genius, and it's hard seeing as how Radiohead and Smashing Pumpkins are two of my favorite bands.  However, seeing as how I'm an obsessive and biast Pumpkins fan, I'm going with Corgan.

Going against the grain here, but I'm going with Thom Yorke. Better songwriter IMHO. The pumpkins were good back in the Gish/Siamese days, but now I'm not much a fan of Uncle Fester - er, I mean, Billy C.

First: You ass, the page took a #### of a long time to load and then this... You ass... Nearly gave me a heart attack (not really but) :)
Second: I would have to agree with the crowd ans say Corgan is better, Although I do enjoy early Radihead a lot.

Cheers Sam :)

Definatly Billy man.  No questions.  Though I would have to say that Trent Reznor(sp?) is more of a genious!  Just think if Thom would work with S.P. on an album and did alot of editing.  Geez, I'm wondering how that would turn out.  Oh... also what is everyone's favorite Radio Head album?  I'm going out to buy one this weekend probablly.  And I agree with sckone.. ASS  Geez  lol

i wouldnt go as far as saying either of them is a genius, but they are both quite talented.  but one cannot give all of the credit to the frontman of a band for the music.
i think that radioheads music is more beautifully composed (overall) but billy is a much better lyricist.  thoms lyrics are not able to be interpreted by the masses, they just seem to be words thrown together.
but both bands are/were quite lovely :)

Billy Corgan is a control freak and basically writes everything (except drums) So If you like a SP song, you can credit Corgan for music and lyrics 95% of the time. (Iha helps some)
As for Thom, I know he's the brains behind Radiohead, and Radiohead is truly more instrumental than lyrical, but Thom does more writing and composing than the rest of the band.

I think they're both genious :)

My favorite Radiohead album is The Bends :) Although I love all Radiohead, The later albums got almost too wierd.

2nd favorite: Kid A nice mix of the lyrical, the normal, and the insane :)
