sen.dll file in system32 detected as virus

Posted 18 September 2008 - 02:50 PM

AVG suddenly detected sen.dll file as a virus. AVG showed that the file is under the system32 folder, so I decided to just ignore it for the time being. but I wonder if it's really a virus? even if I told AVG to just ignore it, AVG will just come up with warning again later, it's annoying that I just shut AVG down.

anyone know what sen.dll file is? is it really a virus? I don't know whether this information is useful or not, but I remember the file has something to do with svchost. though I'm not too sure about it.

edited : the virus is detected under the process of c:\\windows\system32\svchost.exe. virus identified win32/PEPatch.CA

Google says that sens.dll is the library file for the System Event Notification Service.

If yours is infected, have someone send you a clean file,.....or there are sites where you can download a clean one.
