Um, to be blunt:
The case is a little small & if you're going DDR-RAM, might as well use an Athlon board & chip. Also, base1000 isn't bad if you can afford it (look forward).

oh, i should have noted that the complete idea is to have a small case.
I was thinking about an athelon chip on the Nvidia platform, but that board isn't out yet.
There's still a pci slot open in this configuration, so adding a b1000 ethernet pci card is still possible for future expansion.
That motherboard handles everything. 10/100, USB2, firewire, 5.1 sound, (even video which i wont use)

1 AMD would be WAY to hot.
2 SWEET Case
3. It's quite pointless to have gigethernet in a home network. You can't afford a gig-e switch so there's no point.
4. And LCD would be TIGHT on that.

RDS: I plan on gettin a graphical LCD and modding the front panel to remove the 3.5" and add a nice fat LCD.
Cookie: The card is 4x/8x and is compatable with my board. I checked into it.
Thorian: Awesome, I look forward to hear some pro/cons.
Only thing that bugs most that doesn't bug me is the lack of expansion. I have an ATX right now with 3 open PCI slots that I never touch, and the ones that are taken up will be integrated into this board. I won't even be using the PCI!
I read up on some benchmarks and this thing supposedly performs just as well as the top-end ATX boards.

Tell me the point of a LCD screen on your computer case.

asthetic appeal and winamp stats.
I plan on getting a lcd with an input controller which i can map to control winamp. Since the box is so small its going to sit on the desk within reach. I'll be able to see winamp stats in a quite fancy smooth-finished look and have direct control over winamp right there, saving the screen space and such.
I'm also often working with another person, this would allow one to be working on the pc, and the other to control the music independantly from the mouse and monitor, so as not to distract the workin man.

Saving screen space? you can get winamp skins the size of a desktop icon if you wanted to. I still considor it useless.

yeah you could, and they would still overlap something important and require use of a mouse (which may be in use at the moment) to control.
Plus something that damn small would be hard to read.
Stereo-components have LCD screens and buttons, but they aren't useless are they? I'm using the same concept. I want my music to be seperate from my computer work (while still being powered by winamp)
