Just Got Red Hat

hey i just fnished installing redhat 8.0. it seems like its ok, except i got no sound and the font on Mozilla is crazy small! how can i fix these problems?

Fixing up your sound hardware is more complicated, but the font bit is easy:

In Mozilla, go to View->Text Zoom, and then select a bigger text size. That's it.

when i start up linux, i get an I/O device error for my soundcard. i dont think my soundcard is an I/O device is it?

I have a sound blaster live.

I don't know why it wouldn't work...

as root, run "sndconfig".... it will take you through the sound setup screens. If your card is functional and plugged in, it will detect and configure it...


This is red hat 7.3 though, it may be different in version 8

you could look on the internet for a device driver, it might come in an RPM, i don't know all my hardware loaded fine
