Mapping Network Drives

hi, i have an xp box that doesn't log on to mapped network drives automatically,
i'm sure that the solution is simple, but time is not on my side. help would be appreciated.

there's an option somewhere (i'm not on my xp machine) that reads "restore network connection at logon" or something of the sort, i think it's somewhere in your network properties

well i know that on my win2k server, i had to make a user in the Active Directory with my username and pass for my xp machine and it connected fine. i dont know if thats the same set up you got though.
