not remembering passwords

Posted 21 October 2008 - 10:17 AM

Ok, Please tell me why I am an idiot. It must be something I am doing but it is really ruining my life.

I have to log-in to websites pretty much everytime I go to them. Every time I come to dreamincode I log-in . Everytime I check my mail same thing.

Obviously if I keep my browser open I'm good, but anytime I kill my browser it clears my sessions or whatever you want to call it.

But it isn't ONLY on the web.

for example, my dreamweaver install won't remember my ftp login details. same with filezilla.

now, as far as i know, none of this stuff is saved in the same place so I wonder if I am losing my mind here or what... but a similar thing happened when I had xp running. Now I'm on vista, and it only seems to be worse.

wtf is my deal

I wonder if you have some kind of setting that is wiping out your cookies each time you close your browser?

I think it has something to do with you kissing guys on the mouth.

Seriously though, what OS are you using?

Do the login selections follow you (like to another machine) or does this only happen on some machines more than others?

I managed to configure Firefox to remember passwords and forget cookies. I also have it configured to block all scripts except for ones I allow. It is sometimes a pain, but a lot safer that way.

This is in a menu under Extras, called something like Properties, in a tab called something like Data security (sorry, my Firefox is German).
