Linux noob question *that I apparently figured out*

Ok I have been following a tutorial to get my wireless card to work under ubuntu and I need to modify my /etc/modules file to have a ndiswrapper string.

I dont know the command from terminal to edit text files and every site I find assumes that the user knows what the hell they are doing.

if I just double click it from the file browser gedit will open and display it but I cant sign in to root under gnome in ubuntu.

HOLD ON A SEC

lets see what happens when I try this under terminal

$ sudo gedit modules

Modules opens like it always did.

adding ndiswrapper

attempting to save

WHOOO HOOO IT WORKED
