Fps Creator X10 help!

Posted 22 October 2008 - 04:35 PM

Can a Dell Inpiron 1501 run The Fps Creator X10? It has Windows Vista, 1.99 GB of ram, 1.70 GHZ Duo core, an ATI Radeon Xpress 1150. Will it run?
Oh yeah, where can I download Direct X 10?

Well when I ran it, it said direct3dx10.dll
What does that mean?

what is the full error message?

You usually get an error stating that the direct3dx10.dll is missing when you haven't set up your includes folder to pull your directx sdk lib files.

google 'directx sdk' - and it should show you a link to the Microsoft Downloads site - the sdk is quite large i think, but is packed with some really good stuff (including all the library files you'll need for directx 9 and directx 10).

I use the november 2007 sdk @ the mo and it does me rightly - don't know if there is a newer version - probably is.

Yo! Stop throwing your toys out of the pram. People on this forum help WHEN THEY CAN, and most of the users have full time jobs which they take 5 mins away from every so often to help others. So getting a PM from you, then finding out you're screaming like a spoilt kid is bang out of order. You have provided no error messages, error codes, or the process you use to get the 'freeze'.

Without these no-one will be able to tell you why you are getting the error / freeze, and 99% of them will tell you that the most likely reason is graphic hardware failure / corrupt software. Do you even have a graphics card that supports DirectX10?

You need to grow up and learn some manners, and to be honest I'd rather smack you than help you with a message saying all that - you've got anger issues dude, go get a hug.

*EDIT*

removed the harsh bits - got a bit annoyed

Sorry. I was just angry when you ignored me. Well the DX10 sdk just froze when I was extracting. No error message. I had to turn it off. :(

Sounds like your RAM is dead / windows is corrupt. I'm not trainned in hardware / windows environments so I can't say for sure, but I would re-install windows and if that doesn't work, buy new RAM.

This problem has nothing to do with directx / game programming - it's your computer that is causing the issues.

I have reinstalled windows about 2 times already. Well I didn't try again after I have done that so I think I will try again. I have 1.99 GB of ram.
Wait in my post "Fps Creator x10 help, you said I can run it when I have 1.70 gigahertz dual core and the fps creator x10 needs 2 gigahertz dual core. Did you make a mistake?

No the spec of your machine is fine - I'm suggesting that the RAM in your computer is faulty. It could also be that you have a corrupt winzip / extraction software.

The freeze during extraction would suggest to me that there is a problem with your computer moving temporary data. You would need to ask someone who knows more about the windows system than I do to give you an accurate 'fix', but what I can say is that it definately is not a problem with your computer not being able to run it, or a problem with the directx sdk.

An alternative is to download the directx sdk on a different computer, extract it, put the files onto a USB / CD / DVD then use that to copy it on to your computer. Other than that I have no idea, sorry.
