If in Maryland, check out Loch Raven Dam. It is a beautiful area, and huge....just can't swim in it though...it is the drinking source for baltimore county

Im going climbing at Great Falls in Maryland in a couple weeks! :) Love Baltimore by the way, the inner harbor is beautiful!

@Winstinology: I was born in Kodiak and go back from time to time for hunting trips. Some beautiful country up there, I almost miss it

@Absynthe, just saw your message about the Inner Harbor, I work about 10 minutes from it, but never go there....too many tourists. If you want fun, go to either Canton, or Fells Point! They are both great!

Add Cannock to the list.

Why? Well...

Come to Cannock, where you can frolic with the countless chavs. Burberry isn't your style? Not to worry! There are plenty of emos for the taking. Binge drink like there's no tomorrow, go out and be random!

You know what they say... When in Cannock do as the Cannockians do. Chav? Go beat down on some dirty greebos! Emo more your style? Cower in the corner when a chav walks by, and be random when they've gone!

Spend your days wading through the trash flooded streets. But don't go bare foot! You might develop an addiction to heroin.

@Absynthe

There is one in Fells Point called the Greene Turtle. Other than that, I am not really sure. I am not a pub man myself. I drink to drowned memories. There is one near where I work, but I can not remember the name.

Well, we Germans can't compete with the Americans on the scenery front - although the mountains I can see from my house may be smaller, they are the same ones Hannibal crossed with elephants 2000 years ago. Actually not the same Alp, I think he was over the other side, but still...

Anyway, what we do have is a bit of culture, and here is Peter Lenk's website. He is a sculptor who makes the most gobsmacking things you ever saw, and you can only see them here in South Germany:

http://de.wikipedia....wiki/Peter_Lenk

Sorry it's in German, but anyway, click under the little pictures to see them properly.

And as for this one, this is where my mother-in-law lives, and is not allowed to be viewed here by anyone under 18. This is the swan, who is chasing Leda...

http://www.fotocommu...display/3277780

Look closely if you can bear it. Leda doesn't seem to mind.

Wow!! The building are gorgeous!! Love towns like that! How beautiful! That's what I like about Europe, that it's very open minded. The swan wouldn't have made it a day in any place in the states!! Especially on the front of a building!
