Hey all,
I have an SD card that is for my digital camera. I placed the sd card into my sd reader (built in on my laptop). I removed the SD card and when I went to place it back into my camera all my pictures were gone. I placed it back into my SD card reader on my laptop and they were not their either. Is there anyway I can recover these photos? I searched around google and came across this link. http://www.cardrecov...ogle&kid=cr5001
I have never attempted to recover photos from an SD card and I want to make sure I research around a bit before I attempt to use a utility to recover them. Has anyone here ever done this before or know of software that actually works?
Please any info would be great.
reCoded.

Moving to Computer Support. You will get a better response here.

If you changed the the file prefix when you loaded the files into your computer, then the camera will no longer be able to read it. If you moved the pictures rather than save copies to your computer, they will be gone. Some programs by default will move the contents of a SD card rather than just copy them. You can copy any standard images to an SD card and your camera will read it so long as you change the filename prefix to the proprietary name used by the camera.

The only other way of possibly retreiving these files without use of a special utility specifically for SD cards is if ou had viewd/browsed the images on the card prior to removal, AND you haven't restarted/shut down your system from the time of this message. Because these files/images could still be stored in a temp folder.
