God Boxen!

Ever think about the sick system you could build if money was no object? The true, ungodly power that *no one* could possibly use completely (ok, other than running multiple, parallel SETi processes)?

Well, here goes....

RAM : (4) 1gB PC2100/266mhZ
MB  : MSI K7D Master-L AMD 760MPX
CPU : (2) AMD MP2600+
Vid : Radeon 9700 Pro 128MB
HDD : (2) WD 120.0GB/7200 HDD

OS  : Windows 2000 Server OEM
Case: Enlight 7250

FDD : Mitsumi Beige 1.44
Snd : Altec Lansing AVS300 3Pc
NIC : TCW PCI 10/100
CD-r: Lite-on 48x24x48 CDRW
HS/F: (2) Zalman CNPS6000-cu
Fans: (2) Coolermaster 80mm
Mon : (2) Lacie electron22blue IV 22"

Ultrasuper video card: So you can render that SETi screensaver at lightning-speed.
Beige floppy drive: So you can ... uhh... install the network card driver!

If money is no object, why not upgrade those ATI 9800s to GeForce FX 5800s? The pre-release version pretty much killed the ATI in the benchmarks, with the exception of one test.

Weren't as many tests ran as they wanted, due to time restrictions, but Im sure they will be standing strong when more tests are ran upon release.

:pirate: I have a similar system u posted...i built it the last week of feb. ok here it goes:

Chieftec Dragon tower w/ alienware bezzel in matching silver w/ side window (social engineering used to get the bezzel : ) )

PSU: Vantec Stealth 520W(three temp controlled fans)

MoBo: Asus A7m266-Dual 760 MPX chipset

CPU's: 2 AMD ATHLON MP 2000+ w/ coolermaster active heatsinks

RAM: 512MB PC2100 brand name CAS 2 , enclosed in thermaltake passive RAM cooler

VID:** Albatron geforce4 ti 4200 turbo Pro medusa(w/ thermaltake Geforce 4 cooler(best!) and gpu greased w/ arctic silver3 heat dope

sound: Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum 2 w/ black 5.25 " drive

HDD: 80 GB WD Caviar Special edition 8 MB cache 7200 RPM

DVD-ROM: toshiba nothing special here (black)

CD-RW: Samsung 48x24x48 Cd-rw w/ 8 MB cache(black)

temp: 5.25 " vantec nexus tempmonitor drive w/ firewire and USB 2.0 hook ups ( monitoring 2 cpu's, and caes temp) Black

cooling: airflow system follows the design suggested by AMD for dual cpu configurations (5 80 mm case fans)

Mouse: Logitech MX700 wireless optical w/ recharging base station....very nice i love this mouse

speakers: CA 5.1 surround ...not bad pretty decent sound quality

misc: 2 DUAL cold cathiod lights 12" blue, rounded ide and fdd cords

had some minor issues but everything cleard up after a lttl trblshooting, now it runs perfect!!!! i love it, although alot of the new technology thats out i am envious of.....(i.e. agp 8X mobo's and vid cards, nforce2 chipset)

this rig runs BF1942 and the desert combat mod like a dream----->http://www.desertcombat.com .... i also am in Beta 3 for Star wars galaxies and this system is running it great , this game allows SMP which provides a notable boost to dual cpu users : ) which is basically why i built this rig, for SWG..

** im thinking about buying the fx 5800 anyone interested in the albatron for $150?
