Just press enter. Volume label isn't important - it's just a name, like, say, SYSTEM.

umm ya i think you really screwed it up. lol
if you want to reformat it.
put your windows disk in. restart your computer and boot from the disk. by pressing f2 or f12 depending what pc or other buttons.
hit install windows delete the partition and then hit install under the free space. make sure where it says free space that's the size of your hard drive.
WARNING THIS WILL DELETE EVERYTHING DRIVERS PROGRAMS EVERYTHING

It was asking you for you current drive label.
If you can remember when you went to My Computer or Computer in Vista what was written next to your C: drive something like WINDOWS or similar is normally there.
For instance when you put in a cd it will have a label which will appear next to the drive letter when you have inserted the CD. Your C drive also had one and it is asking your for it as a secondary confirmation before formatting your drive.
If you cannot remember it then type the following at a Windows XP recovery console or Vista recovery console
DISKPART
then when this is loaded the prompt should change to just a ">"
then type:
LIST VOLUMES
you should see a list of all of your drives. On that list should be the drive labels for all of your drives. Remember what this is and then type
EXIT
When you then goto format (format c: /q /fs:ntfs) and it asks you for the label enter that and it should format.

I did encounter the same problem. It worked only when I entered the "same label that was already assigned".
