ive tried it with about 10 different cd's now, so i dont think thats the problem.

Do you have the cable from the CD/ROM connected to your Soundcard? I know...but I have to ask just to eliminate that.

Oh, and on the mount error. What does your fstab say in regards to the CD/ROM device?

I don't mount my audio CDs before I play them. Try playing in gtcd without mounting.

heh, bingo. its not there. i dunno what happened to it. maybe i took it out when i moved my drives around a few backs and installed my dvd and my cd-r. but now its gone. can't find it anywhere either. shit, gonna have to buy one or something.


and on the last 2 posts, i have no idea what either of you said. wanna explain in more detail for what continues to be a linux n00b?

and Audio formated CD's woun't mount cause they arn't ISOxxxxxx formatted
