I was trying to download Sun Studio 12 on fedora 9, and it keeps failing. Does anyone knows why that is?

What's the exact error? And what's the name of the file you're downloading?

Sounds like it didn't finish downloading.
Firefox stores stuff in a temporary directory, and when the download has finished will move the file to your selected download location.
If that's not the problem, then make a folder in your home directory (let's call it SunStudio)
open a terminal and run this command
tar xjf /tmp/SunStudio12ml-linux-x86-200709-pkg.tar-2.bz2 -C ~/SunStudio
