hey guys, just got a new Mobo/processor/ram/vid card/ram

i can easily install this stuff, and copy my HDD to the new one
but what i need to know is that with this whole winxp activation, can i install all this new stuff and still have winxp work like it did on my old system?

if its legit (which im guessing it is) you probably have to call ms and get a new code from them.

yeah i got into talking about this with gateway one time , microsoft's " rules " about windows xp states that it may be loaded on another machine only if it is distroyed on the harddrive before it , in other words if you call M$ they will give you a new key but i wouldnt run it on both harddrives that long..

what i was going to do is keep the same hard drive (i have a windows hard-drive (a small one JUST for windows) and another hard-drive for all my programs/games/music and such

what i was going to do was keep the original hard-drive with windows in my new system, but copy my other hard drive onto my new one, and either sell it or format it and use it.

would this work? would windows still boot up if i replace the mobo/processor?
