my yahoo messenger is hacked!

im not sure where to post this..whether here or caffeine lounge..
but my yahoo id is hacked..not by a hacker ..but my friend..
he does not have ill intentions but he seems to be reading all my chat messages with everyone whom i chat while he's online.
help!! what should i do now? i was chatting with him few minutes ago but signed off immediately as he said it! :crazy:

... If you can still chat with him, then you obviously still know the password. So just change your password?!

but he claims he has some software that can detect...no matter what id i logon to..
and he says that he knows my ip address

Probably has a keylogger if anything. IP address really has nothing to do with it.


edit: Unless he is sniffing your packets.

Just don't believe him, he may be just showing off, and even if he knows your IP address, that doesn't necessarily mean that he has your email password, just try to change your password and see what happens... if he is able to crack your password then he has the tools, anyways try to choose a powerful password that contains such characters ( ) ! @ $ etc, such characters cannot be found by dictionary attacks password cracking, good luck :) ;)

the problem is that he actually copy pasted my chats to me!!!
and that too in the same format the chat window is!

yea..firewall on, have norton antivirus(active one) :D

yeah..changed password now..but dunno if he's still able to see my msgs..

Check running processes on your computer, if you see any that look odd, google them.

Alternately just disconnect from the internet while you examine your body for mole, I mean your computer for viruses, etc...

isn't an antivirus enough????
anywayz some threat was REMOVED by the virus!!(-it claimed so)
i thought norton "2009" :P was completely safe :(
