this is bucking fullshit

i spend fucking hours trying to get this new hard-drive to work and in the end it was becuase the jumper was on "cable select" and not "slave"

hours wasted because a little piece of plastic was on 2 pins instead of the 2 pins next to it
im still angry!

i mean shit..
why cant all 3.5" bays be configured so that you can just insert the drive through the front of the case, and have the IDE port and power plug waiting for it?
and have all the jumper stuff auto-configured in the bios?
everything is too complicated

everyone knows the very first thing you do when you get a harddrive is check the jumpers , if you dont do that you shouldnt be installling one, you should have went online and looked a manual for it or something...

BTW: IBM drives aren't as bad as they were last year. But I doubt the RMA period has dropped....

I have a seagate and it has the diagram. only ones ive seen with out the diagrams are the comps that come pre-built (like my parents HP)
