Okay, look. I'm not trying to get attention, so you can cram that idea up your ass. It's just that this forums has gotten a little boring, and I'm just trying to bring back some friskyness/controversy/action into this old-man-of-a-forums. Doesn't anyone else think it is getting boring? Even DIC's All My Programmer's is dead.

Neo, Dream.In.Code isn't Facebook or MySpace, it is a programming community with a couple off topic forums, with the emphasis on programming, not reading frivolous, immature threads by an Emo. It's not the best idea to tell us to cram it up our ass, especially to the owner of this forum

My legal advice would be not to cram anything up ones ass. Sound counsel there.

I suppose it depends on what your expectation of the site is...if you were expecting to come here and either receive or offer aid on a variety of programming topics, then I would think expectations have been met, and with some to spare. If however someone is coming here looking to read entertaining material of a non programming nature, it is possible there is some room for improvement (always room for improvement, right?).
you note that you are trying to bring some friskyness/controversy/action to the forum...if this a deliberate action on your part, why are you upset if someone does not agree with you, or directly confronts you? By your own admission, you're seeking action and controversy. Does this not qualify as what you were looking for?
Perhaps if you could elaborate in more detail about your expectations, we could help. I'd also suggest posting messages such as this in the Site Feedback forum, where it may receive more serious review.

Yes, this ...er... was the off topic forums. It's a retreat for programmers who need a break. Read the forum description under where it says "Caffine Lounge". Maybe if all the n00bs didn't see just boring threads, they wouldn't leave as easily. I am not an emo, and I am quite serious in the java forums (most of the time
). Lighten up. Even a lot of the "off-topic" threads are about programming. We need some excitement, something to get everyone involved in. I was just merely tryna stir it up a bit
I wasn't necessarily getting mad over the whole Nickelback situation, I was laughing the whole time. And my sig?
Thats just playfully pushing SkyHawks buttons. ^____^

I was not suggesting your original post should not be in the Caffeine Lounge...I was referring to this one, as it concerns feedback related to site activities.
While somewhat curious as to why you think i may need to lighten up, I'm more curious about why you feel your attempts to make the forums more interesting are not going over well. you said yourself you are trying to inject some action, to cause some controversy. Surely you did not expect every single members of the site to share your viewpoint, did you?
From a purely personal point of view, I could not possibly care less about your posts attempting to liven things up, as long as they abide by site guidelines and rules (and they certainly appear to). So I'll ask again...what is the problem? you are looking to liven things up. I don't see anyone stopping you. I'd advise that you may wish to grow a thicker skin, however. If you expect all members to fully accept your posts, you may be disappointed.
All the best in your endeavours.

I don't know about you, but to me, those are interesting! I love programming! I like talking about it, too, so to read about it anywhere is fine with me, even if it happens to be the caffeine lounge.
Some of the other threads have gotten complaints, and even been closed. But I have yet to see a thread about programming, that stayed on topic, to get closed or any complaints. //except your complaint, I suppose
If I'm wrong, and there has been a thread about programming (on topic) that has been complained about or closed, let me know.

Being a forum for programmers, by programmers, I would have to disagree with the concept of the boards being boring.
From an outside perspective, yes, the entire forum is probably a dull worthless piece of drivel - as anything programming and/or computer related often is to those who aren't into programming and/or computers. For instance, I can't imagine my sister - a nurse with little or no technical interests or abilities - being even remotely interested in Dream.In.Code, it's members or it's content. Anytime I talk programming and computers at family functions, she punches me in the shoulder and tells me to stop being a nerd.
But from an inside perspective - as a computer geek, as a programmer - these boards are immensely interesting. I have learned SO much from the crew here at DIC it's truly mind boggling. The off-topic boards are nice when you have the time to sit around and type endlessly about pointless things such as tatoos and football scores, but that is not the primary focus of the boards, nor should it become such.
I am sorry if you feel we have somehow let you down by not being entertaining enough, but - if it is entertainment you seek - I think you've come to the wrong place.

I was only talking about the off-topic forum!!!!! Jeebus!!! And why does everyone jump on the conclusion that I'm tryna make this forums into a myspace/facebook clone? Neither one of those sites has even been in my address bar!!!!! This site is interesting, just sometimes I think the o.t. forum was getting a little dull. So I had to do what NeoTifa does best and start shit.
