Hi, I'm Eelco. Im a lighting technician for concerts. Is start coding with Visual Basic to create my own DMX interface to control my lighting.

After 1 year I still got no clue on how to create that :) , but learn how to create other stuff is nice to. The dmx interface is something for the future.

Don't you have a lighting board that you could use? Why would you create a VB app to do it? Anywhooo - that's just my thoughts! :P Nice idea though! B)

Welcome! :)

Thank you all.

I have my own lighting desk, the idea is that I use the desk as an controller for the application, so every output of my 48 lighting desk is linked to an memory page in my computer. There are converters from dmx to usb also usb to Dmx, those codes are open source. But I'm thinking of creating my own converter, but thats an other part of the job.

After collecting the values stored in the memory pages, the application send them over an wireless connection to an other computer who will control the lights.

Dmx have a range of 512 channels, but most intelligent lights needs now up to 35 channels so your channels are full with a few lights.
With this solution you can create multiple dmx outputs and you can use an huge range of memory's instead of the memory pages on the lighting desk.

But for now I just need to learn VB.net /2008.
