Ok let me get this straight this conversation started three years ago, then hibernated until now, reapeared and went on like normal.

Sadly in an unfortunate accident the book was destroyed when I tried to hide it from my parents in a jar of mayonnaise. Let me know about that LP though, I would like to dance to it in my underoos.

My roomate just picked up a book from the used bookstore downtown called "a child's garden of grass."
It was written in 1969 and it is all about marijuana. It contains some of the most bizzare quotes ever.

Getting grass

Quote

Reciving grass as a gift is proberbly one of the nicest ways of aquiring it. Here are a number of methods that have stood the test of time.

1) Be a beautiful girl with large breasts.

Roachs

Quote

When you smoke a joint down to about the last helf inch you stumble upon a curious little thing called a roach, although sometimes it is called a cragzop.*

*Accually it's never called a cragzop, but that sentence needed a little more rhythm- but why not call it a cragzop? If you do poeple will say "Hey you must've read that book," and you'll say, "What book?" and a whole conversationship will start which may develop into a meaninful relationship which will end in one of you getting hurt emotionally.

Getting stoned Anally

Quote

Two methods still in the experimental stage are enemas and suppositories. We asked an anal compulsive friend of ours to aid us in our research, but he just looked confused and started emptying ash trays.

Cleaning grass

Quote

The small pieces will fall through the holes in the strainer and into the urn, and the strms and seeds will stay in the strainer, unless you bought a strainer with holes that are too large. If you did, don't worry, nobody's perfect. Not even Sammy Davis Jr.

People who haven't smoked grass

Quote

Adolf Hitler
your Mother
My mother
Regis Philbin
Shirley Temple
Ronald Reagan

Places to avoid hiding grass

Quote

A small jar inside a large jar of mayonase.
You will get mayonase on your hands and in your hair and everything

Quote

Throwing it up really hight in the air.
Excellent, for very short periods of time.

Friendship

Quote

If you have a friend how uses grass, and this friend knows you don't, and he has never offered to turn you on, look for a new friend. This one doesn't really like you

Every page has the most retarded stoned quotes on it...
I could go on and on for hours, it is about the funniest book I have read today.

It was also a record. Remember those? - large black discs played on a rotating machine. Anyway the audio can be downloaded from several sites and burned onto a CD It's hysterical. Contact me for info - cragzop

It would appear that it does not.

It's quite funny though.

Thanks for keeping this thread alive all these years!

I was writing a note to my niece and wanted to refer to a non-existent thingy so my mind went back to the '70s and I thought of cragzop. Well I did not really think of cragzop. I thought of the premise introduced in "A Child's Garden of Grass" where someone at a party says <whatever that word was>; and I thought of the evils of marijuana... getting busted.

Minutes later thanks to the Internet and Google (Where did my time go before the Internet and Google?) I found this thread.

Back to you,
Dale E. Moore

For the record - future amazon did not fail you! (you failed to look at the right time!)

Though the 1 star review was great!

I saw some people with this book when I was in 8th grade (14 years old). They said it was cool, and so I read it and it was one of the major influences in my life to become a complete DRUG ADDICT. I will never forget this book, or what it did for me (college flunkee, police record, generally spaced and useless...). Don't try pot, it makes you stupid - Jack and Richard forgot to tell you this (because they were stoned).
