Me,

I am starting to use my Pocket PC for some amature War Driving and Walking, I have a Dell AXIM X5 Advanced Pocket pc running Windows Mobile 2003, and a Dell TrueMobile 1180 802.11b WIFI CF card, I use a few programs like Air Sniffer, Pocket Warrior and Pocket WINc, there are a lot of signals in some of the larger cities around here so it's pretty fun to drive around and see what I can pick up, I plan on getting a dash mount for my AXIM and then have the software running all the time.

Havent tried yet big problem is that a magnet mount antenna wont stick to my aluminum car. may have to borrow the wifes
I was planning on using Net stumbler
and a old pentium laptop

I have been looking for one of those cisco pcmcia cards they seem to have the most power and allow 2 external antennas

yeah, you dont need the big external antennas to do it, i just use the CF card with my AXIM and i can pick up full signals, so built in WIFI in a laptop should work just as well, but i bet if i had an external antenna i would pick up 10x the signals.

Pocket pc's are really funy with the right tools. 2003 makes it sooo much easier. I tried that airsniffer and other program, but they both whined about crap, so I gave up. But yeah, I found 5 or 6 wireless networks in my town of 20,000. I'd like to actually walk around since that'll find a few more. yay

Supposedly the polics dept. isn't encrypted here :pirate:
