That said, some of the points I disagree with, in particular the staying out late ones without letting the wife know where you're at. Back then though, it probably was more acceptable to not send notification, seeing how telephones didn't have the penetration they do now (and cellphones!).

Yea I agree, even now though if you don't come home and don't call she should trust you enough to know your not doing anything stupid, but if its consistent then she has a reason, but I would call.
