Ugly times those were. I'm glad to be born in... OK well instead of forced gender roles we have plenty of other problems in today's time. It doesn't matter what time era you were born in, it looks like you're screwed.

A common sense dose of respect and thoughtfulness on the part of both the husband and wife makes the prospects of a happy home greater. If you ask nothing of your spouse, you will generally be pleasantly surprised (if you are 100% committed to loving your spouse unconditionally.)

It's got that nice sarcastic tinge that gives it a distinctive flavor everyone expects, but it's overpowered by a heaving portion of disrespect.

21 year old white male. Let's at least get it right.
And there's no disrespect intended. Anyone who thinks women are getting an unfair rap is either a feminist, ignorant, or in denial.
Victim mindset. /thread
edit: If any group should be bitching, it should be the young caucasian males, we're a minority now. WAHHHHHHHHH
O wait, you don't see me doing it.

Lol, as a 40 year old white male, I'm allowed.
Nothing so deep as an opinion on modern prejudices. Rather, any guy who wants to go on about how women have it easy may not have an easy time finding like minded women.
I see women getting shafted in numerous venues and I'm a guy. I can only assume I witness only a fraction of the problem.

Yea, it's nothing like the 50s and women who do things that weren't acceptable in the culture of the 50s are commonplace.
But I will play the devil's advocate here... Women do get cheaper driving insurance and all those scholarships. Actually there's all sorts of scholarships advertised for what race you are and are great if you're not a while male.
I personally think the difference between back then and now is that now the scale tips both ways. I'm not a fan of giving someone special treatment based on their gender (obviously). I'm an advocate of equal rights here, I won't hold back.
Also, last semester I used to hang out with someone who got the female engineering scholarship and it stacked up allowing her to go to classes for cheap, but she ended up doing stuff she hated. She really didn't like engineering and did it just because of all those "minority" scholarships.
I'm more for scholarships that are based on what you can do, at least it feels like you actually worked for the bonus money you've gotten. Gender or race doesn't mean you are a good engineer. Culture, maybe, but not gender or race.

Whoa. Let's take a step back. I'm not saying women have it easy. BUT the playing field is even if not slightly tilted in favor of women. Anyone one who denies that is just wrong.
