Well to be fair - Detroit is a little fucked up place if you have never been there. Way too much pollution.

Kid Rock was the pioneer "Rapper" from Detroit with a Beastie Boy's / Skater type style.
Then came Esham who later formed the group Natas - sought to be sacrilegious he is probably the most controversial rapper of them all.
Then came Inner City Posse - now known as ICP or dumbasses with face paint.
Then came Eminem, Royce Da 5-9, D12, Obie Trice.
