Check what applications are running in startup. To check this, open the Run dialog and type in:

msconfig

From there, check the Startup list. Most likely you installed an old application and it cannot run correctly on your Windows installation.

Ok, That was sufficient... :)

First try this click start then run "regedit" without the quotes then go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\WOW check "DefaultSeparateVDM" if you found the value is "yes" change to "no" then reboot...

If not.. when the error appears it might tell you what the program is... so you can go to "start" then run MSCONFIG go to startup then uncheck or delete the startup program that is causing the error...

3rd try compatibility mode if the error mentioned the program right click on it's icon and choose compatibility try windows 98 or nt..

4th change your virus scanning program I suggest avira antivirus it has a free version and it is very good on malwares and worms...

if still no luck try this --->>http://windowsxp.mvps.org/16bit.htm<---

good day :)
