Reasons I will continue to use IE 8 for browsing:
IE 8 takes ~ 10 seconds load, Firefox takes ~ 2 minutes
IE 8 has yet to crash on loading, Firefox screws up 1 out of every 10 times
IE 8 has multithreading, Firefox is still on that stupid one process model
Why do I have firefox installed:
I use to use firefox everyday. However, since it now takes forever to load, takes 10-15% of my CPU to run and crashes 1 out of every 10 times at load, I refuse to use it. When they finally implement multi-threading and turn it back into a non-resource hog, come get me and I'll go back to my firefox love.

It's not about load time, it's about security. And IE loses in that category by far!
Cheers

IE 8 is a tremendous overhaul of security. Unless you can show proof one way or the other, then eh. I'll also note that firefox had a reported larger overall increase in the total number of vulnerabilities over IE. Note this report came from someone unaffiliated with both Microsoft and Mozilla.

So the source could be just about anyone, and not really valid. Also, FireFox loads about the same speed as IE for me, and IE crashes on almost every session I've used it. Even if FF was very slow, crashed, and looked weird, IE is like asking for the Internet to penetrate your computer's every opening.

Sounds like a computer loaded with spywarez to me. Or it's just a terrible computer... Like a wristwatch.

I used Opera before chrome came out and the moment you could download the beta switched.
At first I was sceptical and didn't like the search and url bar being mixed into one. It seemed to lack options but now I realise it doesn't lack options and I enjoy it's simplicity. I now get really annoyed when I go to do a search typing it in the url and other browsers try to resolve it before finally decided oh I must want a search.
Chrome is the cleanest, fastest and most reliable browser I have come across.
I don't like Firefox for it's god awful load times. I don't like IE for security reasons and it isn't standards compliant. I wouldn't mind safari but they started getting cheeky trying to bundle quicktime and god knows what else into the download and I didn't like that so I have never used it again - it wouldn't be so bad but it made the download 2/3 times the size.
I like opera for it's speed. It has some nice gimmicks. It has a nice download manager. Rarely ever crashed on me and was reasonable with system resources.
There should be a chrome option for the profile on this site lol

I use Chrome for everything except looking at PDF's online, as it seems to be very slow with that
Otherwise, I use IE, as it loads fast, and runs fast. I really don't have any complaints about it besides the fact that I like Chrome's layout a lot better
