Cellular gaming

Posted 07 March 2009 - 11:54 PM

My question is, does anybody game over cellular internet? If so, how's the connection and lag?

I'm asking, because I'd like to get away from my ISP, but the only way to really do that is to use something besides phone line DSL, and cable is not an option. I've heard about satellite internet, but I've also heard it really has a lot of latency as far as gaming goes.

I don't know how accurate that chart is, I went to Verizon's website and it states cellular speeds are up to 50 Mbps, and the chart says it starts at 50 Mbps...sounds like somebody is limiting the technology to me. Pay the big price, get the little service.

I found this webpage that says cellular internet is pretty much horrible.

With as often as I've dropped calls or gotten cruddy service, I wouldn't want to use it as my isp replacement.
