New Box Woot

Posted 17 June 2004 - 09:54 PM

well you all know th problems that I had with the alienware area 51m
so now that it wa ebayed this is what I built

Athlon xp 3000+ (Barton 400Mhz FSB)
512 Geil pc3200 ddr ram (CAS 2)
80 GB Segate Barricuda HD
Pioneer A07 DVD burner (12x)
Epox 8rgm3i Micro ATX MOBO ( nForce 2 i128 chipset)
integrated gForce 4 MX (will be swapped out for a radion 9800 pro in2 weeks when i get paid again)
nVidia audio (intigrated)
and just because I didnt want to run any more cable a trend 802.11g wireless card (PCI)
and a Ahnix Micro ATX case Case that is about the size of a VCR

The above was 626.00 delivered from www.newegg.com

It all ties together with the 17 inch designer series trinitron and the altec lansing speakers and a logitec duo wireless keyboard and mouse all black and silver
( I had the monitor speakers and keyboard/mouse)

oh and the box pumps out seti packets once every 3.5 hours

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

I have photoshop open 80% of every day and it really dosen't seem to use that much ram. I'm using version 7 though, maybe CS is worse. Pretty much the only thing that uses that much ram are 3d programs, those fucking programs use ram by the dumptruck load.

I love 7, way better then 6, and way better then cs. I personally think 7 is the best version. We'll see when 9 comes around.

well, when it comes to print design, photoshop can be a RAM hog. An 11x17 poster at 600dpi in full color with 50 layers is just, well, huge. Out of my gig of RAM, photoshop has been known to use prolly 1000 megs of it (resulting in a nice lil crash of my computer, lol)

I've always noticed/thought that Illustrator took more RAM that PS...
