I have a 160g hd With Windows XP pro on the first partition. I then installed Server 2003 enterprise on the second partition. XP boots fine but Server 2003 gives me ntoskrnl missing. I ran Recovery Console, ran fixboot, then copied ntdetect and ntldr from the Server 2003 CD to c:\. Didn't work. Then I went back into recovery console, ran expand x:\i386\ntoskrnl.ex_ c:\windows\system32. Didn't work. Tried reinstalling Server 2003. Didn't work!! Its driving me nuts. I know server 2k3 won't boot if you install XP AFTER, but shouldn't the server 2k3 install update the loaders??????

ok, first thing I *have* to ask is whiskey-tango-foxtrot are you doing installing 2k3 server on anything but a dedicated box? It flatout was not meant for that (even if tweaks & theory say otherwise)...
Another thing, *how* did you come across this copy of 2k3? I know a few members here (myself included) who own legitimate, Redmond ok'd copies of 2k3 & none of them are full versions.
Look, it comes down to this: if you're looking for help w/you pirated/illegal copy of 2k3, don't waste our time. If you really are looking for help dual booting 2k3 & XP with legal versions, you need more help that we can provide, or your paper certs have given...

For your information the software is not illegal. It is an actual REAL WORKING PAID FOR COPY!!! As to where I got it, my company owns it and before I put in into production I wanted to fool around with it. The only box I had left happened to be and XP box. So get off your high horse you jerk off and mind your own F-in business! I fixed it anyhow!!!!!!!
And I also "found" a link to an ILLEGAL copy from a member on this website. D!ck

Then if you know me personally you would have asked me and you would have probally used my name in that little rant of yours. Personally I would have told a frend who was being this big of a baby to Shut the fuck up, quit yer bitchen and lets get this fixed. I dont know you from Joe Blow so fuck off if i did know you personally then I have a low opinion of you for not coming to me off list so still fuck off.
And I like TOOL ( the band )
Personally I would have suggested using a 3rd party boot loader as 2003 server dosent like to dual boot is was not designed for workstations so you would have better luck with a diff boot loader.
I have deployed 4 2003 servers it has worked flawlessly for our clustered Exchange and SQL servers
Not a bad question I asked the same when I saw the post.
Once again another decent question. The enterprise licence includes a full copy of 2k3 and site licences. I could care less wether or not it was legal. ( just so happens that all of my software is legit for a change. )
