OK, I have the 30gig creative nomad zen xtra mp3 player. The headphones have broke on it - one side keeps getting staticy and not playing.
Anyway, I want to have this play through my cars stereo, since I have a decent setup in my car now. I was using one of those car tape adapter things in my old car and it worked perfectly - the only probelm with this one now is that it keeps trying to flip the tape over and then I get an error on my tape player. So is there a way to get it to play without getting a new stereo head for my car? Or maybe some suggestions for a cheap but good stereo head?
Thanks.

Usually tape players only do this when they "detct" the end of the tape because the wheels stop turning. So -- your wheels on the tape adapter might be messed up. Try a different tape adapter -- that could be your whole problem right there and a cheap fix.

I had the same problem with my old car. The problem was that my tape deck had an autoreverse feature and there was no way to turn it off. So when the tape adapter went in, the stereo thought, "Hey, this tape is at the end of Side 1!" and promptly tried to autoreverse, only to repeat the process indefinitely. At the time (4 years ago) I could not find a tape adapter that did not autoreverse. Maybe you'll have better luck... I just decided to buy a bangin' new system.

Well that sucks, yeah I have the same exact problem that jared had - I guess I'll try a sony tape adapter, and if that dosen't work then I'll just lay down the cash on a new stereo. Thanks.

I've heard that those don't work, or work terribly. I don't know if I'd risk it.
