Ok. I've dumped the homework forums back in to the main forums.

What do you think is an appropriate name for the new sub-forum. "C++ Discussion" ?? with a description of "Discussion of advanced topics. No homework/academic questions in this forum."

- only C++ Discussion? What about C (which was more or less orphaned in the last goaround).

- right now there is a main heading "Programming Help" under which comes a list of languages along with, slightly awkwardly, Computer Science and Industry News. Are you contemplating a realignment of the major headings? Possibly an "Advanced Topics" group (completely separate from the "Programming Help" grouping) under which you place, say, Programming Languages, Analysis of Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence, IT Industry News, etc.? Or is it your intention to segregate only advanced discussion about C++? In other words, what do you see as the content of the "Advanced Topics"? Is it primarily advanced programming help, or general academic discussion, or "anything except homework"?

Sorry if this is too much "splitting hairs", but it when you get down to it, in some sense that's exactly what splitting off sub-forums entails.

No, firebolt, but it was the example I gave. :)

How about a lounge? C++ lounge, C lounge, Java lounge…though that might get a bit too relaxed, which isn't really the idea. *Thinks a minute*…where do people go when they want to think and discuss complicated stuff?……How about a Think Tank? Or a Discussion Center or Conference Center…

IDK, I don't have any great ideas, I'll be quiet now. :)

That would get a bit complicated and confusing if one would post a "lounge" question in the main forum and vice versa. But if you implied a main "Homework Lounge" forum, then it could be considered in my point of view.

If you have ideas then go to the "Improve DIC here" link in my signature.

You just said it...Advanced. That ought to scare off the n00bs. lol. You can use the same format for all of them, Advanced Java Discussions, or Advanced Java Topics, or just plain Advanced Java.

:)

Now that I made that forum and put the post limit on there, I hope you guys actually use it :)

Think of it as a less noisy C++ forum for non-newbies to hang out and talk C++ :)
