@Amrykid - Don't write an OS, have you noticed recently you've started a couple of projects and not gone through with them? You have a couple of years experience of programming, with no computer science behind you. People have been programming for 20 years and failed horribly at trying to make an OS that have done several advanced college courseson computer science/development, IT, hardware development and more. An OS is a massive leap from program development. Even making a compiled language is considerably smaller than making an OS.

Don't start something and then half way through when it starts getting hard stop. It shows something about you that will be useless and far from desirable in the workplace.

it not a project, its just a day job....technically making a change to ubuntu to suit my needs, thats all....
Plus, i have 3 years of programming under my belt.....
Like i said...its just a respin....just adding a little bit to it...anyway, lets get back to talking about Open Studio

No offense, but 3 years isn't jack shit.

Is that supposed to be of any relevance? Who gives a fuck how old you'll be in 20 years?

What's with all the hate guys?

I think it's awesome that ArmyKid has started programming so young. I wish I had started at 11.

And let's keep this about open studio huh? Please, I really want to see this project progress.

Oh, I'm not hating on him. No one made this about age, it's about experience. We're just pointing out that very advanced programmers have attempted and failed at making an OS.
I'm not trying to be a dick, but I'm just straight up blunt, so it seems like I am.
And yes, it's great he started at 11, earlier than me.
Yes, I agree. If we're all going to argue about an OS he's going to try to make let's make a new topic.

I do not intend to go off topic again, and I'm not hating on anyone. I made an honest observation and suggestion.

I technically have less experience than AmryKid, and I'm one year older than he is. This has nothing to do with age, and everything to do with experience. I never intended to offend anyone, and I'm sorry if I did.

i never said i was writing a FULL on Operating System. I said i was making changes to a current one (e.g. ubuntu/kubuntu/xubuntu <---my favorites).
If you look at my signature...it says learn C#, and VB.NET, and it also learn C++ and Java (good languages to know).
Anyway...back to Open Studio...
@xampp:You could take open studio...strip it down until you get to the core (docking...and the menus, etc) and rebuild from that.
