It's totally lame. The free trial doesn't even allow you to be a blood elf, which is the only acceptable character race. Even then it sucks.

Nah Neo, Undead is the way to go! It's an okay game to play, just don't let it take over your life. If you find yourself turning down actual real life human interaction to play WoW, that is when you know you have a problem.

I have an 80 Undead Rogue on Mok'Nathol. All of his professions are maxed (cooking, fishing, enchanting, mining, lockpicking). Yeah fishing sucked but it was something to do when sitting in a class where I needed something really mindless to do. Once I hit 80 though, never bothered to spend all those hours "gearing up" I usually just go on now to talk to old friends or cook a few rhino dogs.

Conversation with friends who liked it:
Me: this game sucks.
Them: you gotta get to level 5 and its fun
Me: i got to level 5 and it still sucks
Them: you gotta get to level 10 and its fun
Me: i got to level 10 and it still sucks
Them: you gotta get to level 15 and its fun
Me: i got to level 15 and it still sucks
Them: you gotta get to level 20 and its fun
Me: f*** that....cancel

Yeah, it doesn't get much better. It's the exact same gameplay until 80. Then you start doing PvP. Then that becomes the same until the next expansion comes out.

Oh and the quests....kill 5 skeletons, kill 5 zombies, kill 5 bears....etc.. then when you get to level 10 they switch it up on you: collect 5 bear pelts, collect 5 skeleton hands...etc which you get by killing the animals. I found it lame that not every bear had a bear pelt. Soooo lame

Lol, yeah, if you cause too much damage, you'll ruin the pelt!

I'm pretty sure there was a kid who killed himself like 5 years ago when his "unbeatable" character died.

What amuses me the most is that the parents of the kid wanted to sue Blizzard. Fucking idiots.

I don't know. I don't think I'm willing to pay monthly just to play a game, and I'm too lazy to look into private servers. Not a big PC gamer anyway. I'll get the trial and see what I think.

edit
Downloading now: 66kb/s for 4.6gb. Could take some time.

Don't do it Gabe! It's like a free trial of crack!

Slightly off topic: hmm... maybe i'm mistaken but i'm PRETTY SURE this thread isn't for WoW hating. I mean it's ok for you guys to have your opinions but at least keep your comments on topic with what the author intended. Nowhere did i see in the author's post "let's all share our opinion of WoW" i'm pretty sure he just wanted WoW players' character names...

On topic: i have other characters as well, but since i havent been playing much this year they aren't high levels. So i'll edit them into this post later if i see other people who have characters on the same servers.

I pwned you reroll reroll noob!

Game was fun while it lasted. I find it interesting that they keep making it easier - added a casting bar to the in-game UI, made certain magical effects unable to be purged (why are some magic effects immune, but some aren't?), made it easier to level/get a mount. I enjoyed some of the challenges of knowing what to do when before, but now it's just getting simpler and simpler.

Indeed Neumann, WoW is very addictive, and it "catches" the minds of lot of children(and adults). What i really don't understand, is why do people like games with such graphics? If you like very much MMO-s try Runes of Magic, it is not such addictive(maybe 100%not addictive) and the graphics are nice. What is cool at this MMo are NPC-s. Try it. And ALL don't forget: DON"T GET ADDICTED!!!! :exc2l:

I don't think it was addictive in the least, in fact, I couldn't get into it.

Re: World of Warcraft

It's an MMO, or RPG think about it.

RPG/MMO:
Scenario #1: CollectXXX of itemXXX for NPCXXX
Scenario #2: Kill XXX of creatureXXX for NPCXXX
Scenario #3: Goto LOCXXXfor NPCXXX
Scenario #4: Talk to NPCXXX at LOCXXX

ALL RPGS are made this way, it's the concept and design to keep you hooked.

Don't talk to me about Final fantasy, If I wanted to watch a movie, i'd go watch a movie.

RPGs are the ONLY exception for a movie game.

Wow's getting easier, because you don't have to KILL YOURSELF over getting gear, you can play a few times a week and be onpar, but want to do heroic achievements? this is where the skill is going towards.

Either you like wow or hate it, it's like anything, no use bagging a MMO-MSN. Let people try it for themselves, that's like saying, Pacman is boring because it doesn't have good graphics, and anyone with half a brain will say graphics are NOTHING to a game, I think wow is a dine show to this, Everquest might look nice, but whats the point if you have to run it on low?

That being Said:

Server: Barthilas
Faction: Horde (FTW)

Icecreamvan Fury/Arms Level 80 Warrior.
Boxflogger Level 80 Prot / pvp holy specd Paladin.
