I use Avast, Spyware Guard, Spyware blaster
as defenses so far I've had nothing get through
to my PC. And trust me i go through a lot of
downloads.

The one time i had something was because i
was stupid enough to open it... and with the help
of Avast, it was clean in a couple of minutes.
I also recommend Spybot Search and Destroy,
MalwareBytes, AVG (I normally install this one
on computers that i fix, because its easy to use)
and Avira Antivirus (spell check?).
If you keep a good security (run scans frequently,
and keep them all up to date) you shouldn't have
this problem again.

AVG is garbage (speaking from experience). Avast is much better.

Agreed, that's why i don't use it myself, but
its good enough for you know, my costumers.
That way they call me back again in mm
say a couple of weeks

Why did you use it? I have used both and I find that Avast is "garbage". AVG is Spyware so it knows what it is looking for in theory.

Hmm, only has ability to stop one virus, and a somewhat trivial one at that...I think I will stay away from that then.
