Anyone who calls themselves atheist are as ignorant as theists (well maybe not :)), simply because you can't 100% completely disprove all the thousands of God's existence.

Personally I'm a strong agnostic, just that one percent off atheist, but I'll probably never get there.

Religion has been the result of terrible things, and good things, whatever people highlight just shows which side of the fence your on.

Is it ignorant for me not to believe in Santa Claus and tooth fairy either? Even though I can't disprove their existence.

That's awesome, except for one small thing... agnosticism and atheism are concerned with different questions. They are not mutually exclusive. There are agnostic theists, as well as agnostic atheists.

It depends on the definition of not believe in, I don't believe in them either :( I can't 100% disprove the existence of a character resembling santa clause for example, nor can I prove one ever existed either. It is highly unlikely and pretty much physiologically impossible IMO the definition of santa I know to perform the tasks he did, even if he's a fictional character, he could of been based on a generous man which was just exaggerated.

So in short IMO it is ignorant to say "this definitely never existed and I'm 100% sure"

Fair enough, Bacanze. Now, based on what you have said, I am assuming that you do not possess a belief in God, while claiming you do not know the truth. I'm afraid to say this... but you are an atheist too... an agnostic atheist to be precise. I'm sorry.

What is the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word atheist?

Me. In fact. Did you start this fact to see if people would post anti-christ.

Santa was in fact a real person. He was a man who in like th e 1700-1800 (not sure about the date) would go around his town and put toys he made on the doorsteps of houses where children lived.

What's with the new avatar, Terry? The design looks familiar. You wouldn't happen to be the kid on the left?

I made the new avatar from scratch in Photoshop CS4. Are you saying I'm some little goth kid?

I think rather than call oneself atheist anti-theist would be more appropriate.

As most people who classify them self's this really mean those who are anti-religious or against belief of any sort. I know not yet of one atheist who doesn’t speak out about why he doesn’t believe in the spaghetti monster, or tries to convince others of his logical thinking pattern.

There for i believe most atheists are actually anti-theists if they call them self’s atheists. Its in the act of calling yourself something that makes you something. But yet the word atheist means just not to believe in anything supernatural.

If you really don’t care about it or don’t "know" then agnostic would also suit.

Religious rhetoric though holds no bearing on intelligence.

The more I think about it the more I think you shouldn't be allowed to decide anything about your own (religion/sexual preference/world outlook) until you no longer live with your parents or any sort of guardian.
